Low Culture – Places to Hide LP
Members of Marked Men and Shang-a-lang deliver their second full length LP of garagepunk that does it how it should be done – fast, scrappy, melodic, and completely catchy and fun. It doesn’t sound a million miles away from Marked Men but they’ve got a rawer/slightly more Stooges-esque hardcore edge which is cool – check out the last song Shake it Off - it’s hot. Plus, their lyrics cover all the good shit – personal problems, depression, social and political issues. Low Culture is also from Portland, Oregon and share members with the ’82 style hardcore band Macho Boys. I’ve listened to this record three times in a row and it’s got better with each listen. It’s really good.
